As you prepare to come on your Reverse Road Trip, here are some ideas to get you thinking about how to make the most out of your trip:
- Contact your friends or family who live along the route and ask them to contribute their favorite Christian books (along with a buck for shipping)!
- Collect books by hosting a party inviting friends to dress up as their favorite Christian author and to bring a book written by that person!
- Make it a race with relatives or friends to see who can get to CRI first and with the most books and money for shipping. Loser buys dinner!
- Invite participants to donate one of their favorite books in exchange for being entered into a drawing to win dinner and a movie!
- Post about your trip on your Facebook page and invite friends to join you.
- Make it a family camping trip! Michigan offers a lot of great camping/hiking spots.
- Look up churches along the route and contact them to see if they would be willing to participate by donating some books or organizing a book drive event!
- Organize a “Bingo night” at church inviting participants to bring their favorite Christian books and using the book titles as Bingo squares!
- See one of the Great Lakes nearby and experience the fun they have to offer along the shore!
- Make it a missions trip for your Sunday school class, small group, or youth group!
- Take a “Spring Break” reverse road trip and plan around the kids’ school schedule!
- Do a family book walk and ask supporters to donate a book and a buck for every lap or mile walked!
- Compete with another family for most books and bucks collected and take the trip together!
- Purchase books at a Christian book store and bring them with you!
- Take some pictures of your trip and send them our way along with an email or letter! We’d love to share your story with other champions!
