Great Crates are like Bare Your Bookshelf packets….only bigger.  Instead of sending individual books, we pack up a crate and send it to a missionary with whom we’ve developed a long-term relationship and where they will, in turn, distribute the resources as needed.

How Are Countries Selected?

Countries that receive Great Crates are decided based on two things: established relationships and funds.  Great Crates are sent to missionaries that CRI has determined are legitimate ministries and capable of handling the size of the Great Crate that is being sent to them.  Additionally, if the ministry is willing to raise a substantial amount of funds, these folks will often get a Great Crate shipment.

What Types of Resources Are Included on Great Crates?

The types of resources included in a Great Crate are Bibles, books, Sunday School Material, etc.

How Much Does a Great Crate Shipment Cost?

Costs vary depending on size of the shipment.  A 20’ or 40’ container Great Crate will cost $10,900.  This cost covers shipping and all overhead expenses incurred.  Smaller shipments will obviously vary in cost depending on how they are sent and the final destination.

How Are Resources Distrubuted?

Resources are distributed via the recipient when they receive the Great Crate.  In the case of a Global Road Trip, the mission teams have handled distribution in the past.
